MAGUINDANAO — Dalawang linggo bago ang halalan sa May 9, 2022-
Isinailalim sa COMELEC control ang anim na bayan sa Maguindanao, isang lungsod at isang bayan sa Lanao del Sur simula kahapon, April 26.
Ito ang isinasaad sa press statement ni Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan.
Ayon sa opisyal, ang pagsasailalim sa Comelec control ng Committee on the Ban on Firearms and Security Concerns sa mga bayan ng Buluan, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Datu Piang, Mangudadatu, Pandag at Sultan Kudarat sa Maguindanao ay dahil na rin sa rekomendasyon ng Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines at ni BARMM Regional Election Director Ray Sumalipao.
Bukod naman sa Malabang at Tubaran na nauna nang idineklarang isailalim sa Comelec control, napabilang na rin ang Marawi City at Maguing sa Lanao del Sur. Sa ilalim ng Comelec Resolution no. 10757, malalagay lamang sa Comelec control ang isang kapag ito ay mayroong:
History of/or current intense rivalry among contending parties. Such rivalries could motivate people to engage in violent acts;
Incidents of politically-motivated violence involving aspirants/candidates and other supporters;
Violence may be facilitated by the employment of Private Armed Groups (PAGs); and
Serious armed threats posed by the Communist Terrorist Group (CTGs), and other threat groups including the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFFs), the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) , the Maute Group and other analogous threat groups as may be declared by the competent authority, or other paramilitary forces, private armies of identifiable armed bands widely perceived to have committed terrorism, fraud or ther election irregularities and threaten or disrupt the holding of free, peaceful, honest, orderly, and credible elections in any political divisions, subdivisions, unit or area.
Sa ngayon ay patuloy na inaasses ng Comelec ang iba pang lugar sa bansa na posibleng mapasailalim rin sa Comelec control.
