COTABATO CITY — Government troops found an improvised explosive device on the roadside of Sitio Masalay, Barangay Matagobong, Ampatuan in Maguindanao, Saturday April 9, 2022. Elements of the 40th Infantry Battalion of the Joint Task Force Central immediately cordoned the area as members of the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Team (EODT) conducted safety procedures. 601st Infantry Brigade Commander, Colonel Oriel Pangcog, said the IED is composed of an 81mm High Explosive Anti-Personnel Mine, two 9 volts batteries, an Emylo RP, and an electric blasting cap.

6th ID and Joint Task Force Central Commander, Major General Juvymax Uy urges the people to immediately report any suspicious objects they find around them and be vigilant to the appropriate authorities. MGen. Uy said that a harmonious and prosperous community could be attained by local government units and security working together to attain peace and security. Meanwhile, the investigation of this possible IED attack continues.
