General Santos City, Philippines - In order to curb the massive COVID-19 transmission, the General Santos City Inter Agency Task Force decided to reinstate General Community Quarantine in the city.
Based on the Executive Order No. 25 signed by General Santos City Mayor Ronnel Rivera, the re-implementation of the GCQ will begin today, May 25 and will end on June 30, 2021.

It has been said that the total occupancy of the public and private hospitals in the city already reached its 100 percent as COVID-19 cases continue to spike.
The local IATF also orders the clustering of barangays and closure of shopping malls. Only those essential workers are allowed to pass through the cluster checkpoints.
Mass gathering and dine-in service in restaurants are also restricted but will alllow operation through take-out and delivery services.
Market goers must also adhere to the schedule given by local IAFT from Mondays to Saturday.
Moreover, stay at Home Sunday, curfew hours from 10 pm to 4 am and total liquor ban will remain in place.
As of 7PM yesterday, May 24, 2021, the city recorded 37 new confirmed COVID-19 cases raising the city’s total active cases to 560.
